Noticeboard, Newsletter & Events at St Clair Care, Care Home in Camborne, Cornwall

Summer 2019

I am pleased to report that our BBQ event went really well with around 35 family and friends attending. A good time was had by all with
The event stretching well into the afternoon. Remarkably the weather was kind to us and we had some lovely sunshine as a backdrop.

Did you miss the event?? A shame however we have lots more planned with various events spread across the Autumn including a Halloween event a firework party and an Xmas Fayre to name a few!

Keep watching our website for up to date information on our activities.

Spring Program 2019

Fair to say I’m sure you will agree that the early weeks of this year have to date not been very kind to us. Having weathered through the Beast From The East last year we have this year been attacked from most points of the compass by some of the strongest winds seen since the big storm of 2014 which as you may recall severed the rail link into Cornwall at Dawlish for several weeks.

However we have slowly been getting to grips with our program and made a few adjustments to counter these unexpected challenges set to us by the weather gods.

In particular we have stepped up our frequency of trips out which have comprised small focussed visits to a variety of locations going on occasions to places as far away as Penzance not to mention the occasional trips out for pub lunches. A particularly memorable one involved a trip to a well known hostelry in Marazion. Thanks to Tina and Tash for organising and executing this excursion.

More recently our attention has been focussed on Trevithick Day and the usual celebrations which took place as usual yesterday on that last Saturday in April. For us this was an ideal opportunity for our residents to have a major local event staged on their doorstep an opportunity not be missed. Our staff were busily engaged throughout the day ferrying residents up and down to the town to join the crowds from home and away in celebrating that famous son of Camborne Richard Trevithick.

Looking ahead and forward to the better weather and easing of the winds we are busily planning ahead for more outside activities. These will largely be steered by our residents and our gatherings at regular meetings. If you would like more information or to become involved please contact us at any time on the big number:
